Dear Soccer community,

I am writing this letter with a mix of emotions that I have formally resigned from my role as Co-Founder and Director of Operations at Community Soccer Association, effective November 30, 2023. This decision comes after careful consideration and introspection, and I believe it is in the best interest of both the organization and myself.

Reflecting on the journey we embarked on after contacting my brother and friend, Gbenga Osanyinlusi in April of 2021 to elevate community soccer to a more vibrant and fun filled neighbourhood soccer experience across Calgary based on our collective knowledge of the soccer landscape. The dream of creating a positive impact through sports, fostering community engagement, and providing opportunities for growth has been a driving force throughout our collaborative efforts.

Over the past 2 years, it has been both an honor and a privilege to work alongside dedicated friends and passionate individuals who shared our vision. Together, we have achieved significant milestones, and I am immensely proud of the impact Community Soccer Association has had on the lives of those we sought to serve.

As the Co-Founder, it has been particularly gratifying to witness the organization’s growth and development. I remember the days myself and Gbenga will go around construction sites, searching for excess plywood cutaways that were no longer needed just so we can have something to paste our sponsors on. However, personal circumstances and evolving priorities necessitate my decision to step down from my current responsibilities. I want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly, and I believe it is the right choice at this juncture.

I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of the Board of Directors, our faithful sponsors, and the entire Community Soccer Association. The dedication and passion exhibited by everyone has been instrumental in the organization’s success.

I want to express my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the Community Soccer Association journey. I am confident that the organization will continue to thrive under the capable leadership of Gbenga who will continue as the president of Community Soccer Association. Please kindly contact him for any I wish the association continued success and growth in all its future endeavors.

My contact remains unchanged. Please feel free to reach out and keep in touch.

Thank you once again for the incredible experience and the privilege of working with such a remarkable team.

Sincerely,

Olakunle Olamilehin

Co-founder and Former Director of Operations
